Matteo Mutti won the IPT Nova Gorica Main Event
Italian Matteo Mutti has just won the €1000 buy-in Italian Poker Tour (IPT) Season 7 Main Event. This latest iteration of the IPT had a player pool of 265 players who all went to the Perla Casino & Hotel in the Slovenian Municipality of Nova Gorica, on the Italian border. €72,050 were added to the prize pool and €60,000 is the amount that now sits in the bank account of Mutti.
Mutti was lucky to have a final table with a lot of inexperienced players which he easily took down. Most of the players at the final table were cashing in a live event for the first time. This was the biggest victory in Mutti’s career. The IPT has been very good for him lately. At the inaugural IPT which took place in Malta earlier this year he took down 241 entrants and won the first prize of €24,700 in a €550 No-Limit Hold’em event.
The Italian now has over $116,440 in total live tournament earnings. This comes after he managed to beat Christian Favale with Q5 versus A9 when they met in heads-up action. Favale walked away with the second place worth €36,000 which was also his largest individual score up until now. The only other important table was Fabio Scepi who came in third in this event and walked away with €25,000.
