Final WSOP Hall of Fame decisions being made
Soon enough at least one player will be added to the ranks of this year’s Poker Hall of Fame. Most likely there will actually be two of them. The names of these 10 finalists were announced this Wednesday, after a public nomination process and vetting by the hall of fame’s governing council.
Among these players there are four candidates which are new to this nomination – Max Pescatori, Terry Rogers, Matt Savage and the late David “Devilfish” Ulliott. Then there are also six more who have already been nominated for this great honor – Chris Bjorin, David Chiu, Bruno Fitoussi, Jennifer Harman, John Juanda and Carlos Mortensen.
All of them have had some truly amazing poker careers with a lot of bracelets under their belts and huge cash wins. Chris Bjorin alone has two World Series of Poker gold bracelets along with 74 money finishes spanning his huge career. Not bad for a man nearing the age of 70.
Among them is also the sad case of David “Devilfish” Ulliott who passed away earlier in the year due to colon cancer. His presence at the tables will surely be missed.
Now it is up to the 23 living Hall of Fame members and a 16-member media panel to determine who will be inducted into this exquisite club. Having been established in 1979, the Poker Hall of Fame currently has a total of 48 members.
