Casinos in Denmark on the rise
The regulated online gambling market in Denmark has seen their winnings continue their increase in the second quarter of this year. All of this was apparently driven mostly due to the online casino portion of the industry.
Apparently the reported revenues for certain websites has seen an increase of up to 25% in the last few months. That is 24% more than the same period last year and 8% more than what was reported in the first quarter of 2015. The overall gambling market which also includes regular brick and mortar casinos has reported an increase in revenue of 11%.
Sports betting has also been on the rise as is has already seen a 6% year-on-year increase in revenues all across the country. The 26,000 gaming machines which are located in Danish gaming halls reported revenues up by 5% year-on-year.
The Danish Online Gambling Association (DOGA) has compiled an infographic which fully encapsulates the steady increase that the gambling industry has seen in their country since 2008 to 2014. They’ve stated that this infographic only estimates for the split between regular casinos and online based ones. It also does not take account of the online black market located in Denmark. They hope that one day soon they might be able to offer even more accurate numbers.
